Do vaginal estrogen creams work? Why are they used and for how long?

Vaginal estrogen creams work very well for treatment of vaginal atrophy (thinning of the lining of the vagina), dryness, and discomfort during sex. They also help maintain the vaginal pH, which helps to prevent urinary tract infections, vaginal infections and yeast infections. The creams are generally applied tree times per week and are used throughout menopause and post menopause. Some premenopausal and perimenopausal women - especially those on birth control pills - benefit from topical vaginal estrogen creams, as well.

I have no desire to have sex especially since I started this incontinence, I didn't have it until I had an epidural in the left side of my back because of the chronic pain from a spinal fusion I had in 2009.

am using and am pleased with the result for atrophy, particularly.
