Bladder Health Self-Assessment Tool

Approximately 25 million Americans are living with some type of bladder health issue, often waiting for years before seeking help for their symptoms. The National Association For Continence (NAFC) has created a self-assessment tool to help you determine if you may be experiencing symptoms of a bladder health issue. Answer the following questions to learn what your bladder is telling you ... because bladder health issues should not get in the way of living an active life.

  1. Do you experience loss of bladder control during physical activity such as lifting heavy objects, exercising or changing positions (sitting to standing, lying to sitting, etc.)?

  2. Do you experience loss of bladder control while sneezing, coughing or laughing?

  3. Has your sleep regularly been interrupted two or more times in the night by trips to the bathroom?

  4. Do you frequently experience strong or sudden urges to urinate and not make it to the bathroom in time?

  5. Do you wear protective pads in your underwear to protect you from urine leakage?

  6. Do you ever experience any bowel control problems?

  7. Do you normally need to urinate eight or more times a day?
